I hate to even ask this, because I feel like a dummy for not figuring it out yet, but how do you constrain the transforms of one object to another? In Maya it would be “parent constraint” and you could choose whether or not to maintain the offset.
thanks people

Hi people - i'm trying something very simple - to export a Houdini Alembic to Maya.
I've exported the alembic using an ROP from Houdini, but when I “Open Alembic” in Maya, Maya says “/HoudiniProjects/output2.abc not a valid Alembic file. //”
This seems to be the case no matter how I fidget with the settings.
I am able to re-import that very sane alembic back into Houdini, so apparently Houdini disagrees. I am also able to export a test Alembic from Maya, and then re-import it back into Maya (And also import it into Houdini).
Something's not adding up… any suggestions?
thanks in advance
